My name is Martin Kristan. I am a freelance photographer from Ljubljana, Slovenia. Besides sports and underwater videography, photography as a form of expression became my ultimate addiction.
I am passionate about capturing your best looks and emotions. My venture into photography started in 2001 and I became obsessed with the fundamentals that make a great photograph: light, shadows, composition, and emotion.

WHY BLACK & WHITE
Looking at someone’s face, or into their eyes, without the distraction of color can provide a stronger emotional connection to your subject. It’s not necessarily always the case, but if like me, you often feel more connected to a person in a black and white image over a color image, this could be the reason why. With color gone, it’s purely about the connection you have with the subject.
COLOR GEL PHOTOGRAPHY

Gels are transparent coloured material used to modify lights for photography, video and theater. Light is projected through the gel to create coloured effects in the scene being photographed. Some gels modify the light for colour correction. Non-corrective colours are used to create mood, atmosphere or dramatic conditions in the scene and other creative purposes.

If we look up the term “glamour” inside a dictionary, it will define it as “the quality of fascinating, alluring, or attracting, especially by a combination of charm and good looks.” When it comes to photography as an artistic medium, it means capturing and conveying all these qualities through an image; in fact, this kind of picture goes even further and portrays sexuality, style, beauty and confidence as well, in an unusually appealing manner. Glamour photography celebrates the feminine mystique, as well as the beauty, allure, and sensuality of the women.
